Jesse Rae

Jesse Rae is a Scottish singer from St Boswells.  His single “Over the Sea”, reached number 65 in the UK Singles Chart in 1985.  The video for the single – which features Jesse at his kilted, helmeted, claymore-brandishing best, in both New York City and the Scottish Highlands – won an award from the prestigious ASCAP organisation in America.  An album featuring the song, entitled The Thistle, was released in 1987.

As a songwriter, he is best known for the 1982 hit single for Odyssey, “Inside Out” which reached number 12 in the USA and number three in the UK.Jesse Rae In 2007, he stood for the Scottish Parliament as an independent in the Scottish Borders electoral constituency of Roxburgh and Berwickshire, and this year, 2011, will stand again.

On 21 October 2010, Jesse opened for Adam Ant at The Union Chapel in London.

Jesse is a Scottish music legend who tirelessly champions new artists.  He broadcasts locally on Brick FM and campaigns for local radio and television for all communities.
